The larvae of several species of insects in the ecosystems have been biotransforming organic residues for millions of years.The Industrial larvae production of larvae meal adds value, as it is completely sustainable: it can recycle the millions of tons of organic waste produced daily and reduces the huge costs involved in the disposal of them, providing a much-needed high quality protein, very similar to the fish protein.
